The Swedish Demographic Association
The Swedish Demographic Association – SDF
The Swedish Demographic Association was established in 1970. By organizing activities in Sweden, the association aims to provide further insights into the importance of demographic issues and the use of demographic methods in society, from both historical and contemporary perspectives. The association enables and promotes contact between demographic researchers and others working with demographic issues in Sweden. Facilitating communication networks is especially important today when interest in demographic issues has increased.
Activities
The SDF activities include the organization of seminars and other activities around different demographic themes. We also publish a monthly newsletter for members with information regarding upcoming conferences, seminars, and other activities or announcements.
The annual board meeting takes place in the spring. This is where the new board for the coming year is elected.

The topic should relate to population issues in a historical, contemporary or methodological perspective. The annual competition deadline is in March of every year. The winner is normally announced in May.
